Choreography
The videos below are samples of my choreography and dance projects I have been involved with over the past 5 years.
Dancers/Choreographers Alliance (DCA)
DCA is a dance troupe at NYU focused on the process of choreographing, promoting artistry and creativity, and fostering a deep sense of a collaborative dance community. In 2018 I served as the Events Chair, organizing trips to see dance companies touring in the city such as the Martha Graham and Limon companies. In my last two years I served as the Co-President and Artistic Director of the company.
Part of my role as Co-President and Artistic Director was choosing the direction of each semester’s show theme, casting, organizing and creatively aiding a full company photoshoot, aiding the student choreographer’s creatively, curating show order, and conducting frequent meetings with the student choreographers to help with each piece’s development and provide thoughtful and constructive feedback on choreography and creative choices. Dance Fusion’s fusion2
fusion2 is a pre-professional training ground for young dancers that I was a company member of from 2012-2017. Company membership involved taking at least 7 dance classes a week in the range of techniques offered at my studio, while also participating in company rehearsal once a week, with more required rehearsals during show season.
It was also through fusion2 that I got involved with volunteering for the HMS School for Cerebral Palsy, which you can read more about on my Expressive Therapies page.
fusion2 had also given me an opportunity to choreograph my first solo piece, “Unrequited Dedication” in 2017 under the guidance of mentor Kip Martin. View this piece and other selected works from my time with fusion2 using the link to the right!
