About Me

Sylvia Blair is a multidisciplinary creator.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Sylvia has spent the majority of her pre-professional and under-graduate career building a repertoire of music, dance and theater creations (some of which you can explore on this site!). Sylvia attended the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU, where she built a concentration that focused on developmental psychology, biology, and performance studies. In her dramatic work and therapeutic pursuits, Sylvia is interested in exploring the pathways that make us who we are, the factors that disrupt these paths, and how the performing arts can be a road to healing and community repair.

Much of Sylvia’s work lays at the intersections of theater arts, music production, and science. Her most recent work “The Blueprint: A DNA Musical” was seen at The Tank NYC in Winter of 2024. Sylvia also has released 2 full length albums on Bandcamp and 1 EP on music streaming platforms. Her upcoming release, “Thanks For Reminding Me” will be available to stream in November 2024.

Sylvia is also a proud advocate in the Jewish community and currently acts as the Northeast Regional Director at a non-profit organization serving Jewish college students, building coalitions with allies on campus and influential student leaders. She recently completed a year long theater fellowship in the Middle East promoting peace between neighboring communities.
